THE CONTROVERSIAL 1st YEAR OF RELEASE 2007 PRESIDENTIAL SERIES PROOF SET

2007 was the 1st year of the U.S. Mint Presidential Dollar Coins. It proved to stir up a controversy over the fact "IN GOD WE TRUST" was lettered on the coins edge rather than on the obverse where it has been since Lincoln first had it put on the 2 Cent Piece in the days before the Civil War. "IN GOD WE TRUST" was moved to the obverse of these Dollar Coins starting in 2009.
The 4 Dollar Coins in this particular set appears to be high grade proofs, no spotting or toning. They are, of course, Presidents:
George Washington
John Adams
Thomas Jefferson
James Madison

No, these are the series by the U.S. Mint that they call "Golden" Dollars (like the Sacagawea). What they are is Cu-Ni Clad with some weird alloy plating, more of our tax dollars wasted.
