Uhm, idk how to really explain it other than we just think its kinda silly. im a christian, i would rather teach my son that its jesus' birthday than tell him some fat guy climbs down the chimney and leaves presents under the tree, which is a lie. we dont want him to think christmas is all about presents and be spoiled where he doesnt care about anything but the gifts. we want him to know that being with family and friends for the holidays is much more important than presents. we arent going to try to avoid santa, obviously hes going to learn who he is since hes everywhere like you said, but from the get go, we are going to teach him that santa isnt real. just personal preference i guess?
my experience with santa wasnt so good. i was pretty upset when i found out that my mom had lied to me for years and told me santa was real. so i would just rather not tell our son that santa is real when he isnt... its a pretty big let down when you find out hes just a fake.
