Description

The listing, Panasonic CR 2032 Battery for Remote Keyless Entry Keychain Fob Used has ended.

My car was totalled in an accident a few weeks ago and I saved the keyless entry for some reason. Thought maybe someone could use a battery for theirs, maybe as a backup. My car was a Lincoln but the keyfob (a picture is here) is also the same for a Ford. Your key fob might use the same battery but check before bidding. This is a Panasonic CR 2032 and it was working when the car was totalled.

Would it be possible to drill a small hole in it to make it into a keychain?

I wouldn't recommend it, I don't know what's inside but batteries usually have something caustic or acidic in them to conduct the energy. Maybe someone out there has more information on this than I do.

You're probably right. I was just thinking that it would have a little weight to it.

It would have some weight. You could maybe wrap or twist metal around it and make it a keychain without cutting into it, like you might do a crystal or an uncut gem.

That is a great idea. Just curious, what is the diameter?

I can't find my ruler but it's about the size of a quarter.

It's actually in between the size of a nickle and a quarter, I got it out and compared it to a quarter and it's a bit smaller in diameter. Hope this helps!

Would you consider sending, along with the battery, the push button casing it came out of??

I auctioned it off separately in case someone had a cracked one and it went for a lot more credits than I had expected. Sorry. It would be good to have as a backup battery.
