I love lavendar how do you grow it from seeds?

I love lavender too, my favorite scent in the house! to plant them you just sprinkle the seeds where you want them, very lighly use a leaf rake and comb them into the soil about 1/16", and water them, they will sprout usually within a week. i use a spray bottle and set the nozzle for mist to water the seeds, then they dont get lost with the water run off. thanks!
