When you say it comes on then goes off, what flashes? Just the charger lights, or one/both screens?

It sounds like something isn't connected right inside (or a fuse was damaged). Both screens flashing is actually a good sign (when it's just one, usually the other needs to be replaced). Good luck, I'm sure someone can fix this!
