Thank you for the wonderful post. My son as well has just returned from Afghanistan he is in the Army stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky. I am a pround mother like yourself.

I looked this up this is a PRE-WW2 version.Could you please take another picture of the front and rear covers I am trying to narrow down the date before I bid more,I need to see the complete rear cover( the one with the medals on it ) Awesome Auction
