Are you sure it is faux? I think there are some Asian (Chinese?) coins like that. Don't you guys collect coins? It would be neat to make jewelry out of them. All you'd need to do is drill a hole in them ... maybe you can borrow someone's drill press for a few moments to make some coin pendants. Foreign coins aren't very valuable, but they would make interesting cultural jewelry.

I still have all those danged foreign coins. Still planning to put them on craigslist but was thinking of listing there here in large lots. I've got about 300 of them, most in really good shape, dating back quite a ways.

Yeah, a gentleman on listia (who I have to contact still about it) sent the coin to me. We've handled quite a few of these specific kinds of coins, and this was definitely not real by the standards we've seen.

Alas, we still have no cash...we struggle just to keep it free shipping, as it eats away at the little income we have. But this is still a ministry for us.

Maybe it's some sort of token. Hard to believe someone would counterfeit something like this.

OH they do. I have seen them sold for jewelry making purposes. I am not sure if the writing says anything but they do make fakes on purpose cause the real ones are harder to find. Someone got this and was told it was real. They sent it to us to see if we thought it was real. We knew right away that it was not. They did not want it back so I figured, its still pretty may as well make a necklace out of it anyways.

Stacey and Arbon, check out photos of jewelry I've been making. The photos aren't as good as I'd like, but the beads are spectacular! Not sure I'll put any of them on Listia but I thought you might like to see them: http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg146/natahoa/Jewelry/

Good job. I love what you did with those turquoise beads. The silver twist wire is my favorite. I did leave you some comments too. Thanks for sharing that with me. Its so hard to get a lot of credits for jewelry. IF you ever do list any, I would be interested. :)

Those twist beads are my favorites, but they are expensive. I bought the first ones on Overstock, which is out of them now but found them cheaper somewhere, I just can't remember where (dang it). I can probably check my paypal account to figure out where I got them.

Aww, I know why they are your favorites. I can't wear much metal anyways. Don't worry about where they came from for my sake. :)

I just got on ebay and bid on a bunch more silver plated tube beads, some S-curved and some just curved. It is so fast and easy to make jewelry with them, and I love the way they look. I got enough to put a few lots on Listia ... can you wear silver plated?

I am not sure. Gold vermeil does ok and sterling silver gets tarnished quickly. The plating would probably come off and leave it ugly. I use some in necklaces anyways, I just try not to have it up around the back of my neck so much. That helps. I would bid on some if you list them though. I went to a yard sale today and found some treasures. I think I bought some REAL turquoise for a $1.00. I can't wait to make something out of it. Its an OLD necklace but i want to put it with some hearts I got. I will make it better.
