The listing, SCARLET FLAX, 15 SEEDS, DROUGHT TOLLERANT PERENNIAL has ended.
A native of northern Africa and southern Europe, scarlet flax (Linum rubrum) is a hardy annual that thrives in most geardens The plant grows very well in hot temperatures and drought conditions. Although an annual, it reseeds easily if left alone.Scarlet flax produces a profusion of glossy, deep red flowers on plants that grow up to 24 inches in height. Plant seeds close together in a sunny location in well-drained soil to form a mass of color once the plants start to bloom. They spread quickly. Plant seeds as early as April and as late as September in zone 9 and above. After the projected last frost in all zones. Once scarlet flax becomes established, it requires little maintenance. It stands well to hot dry conditions. Very pretty mixed with other heat tollerant plants. Surface sow these. No more than 1/16" soil to cover. Mist until they sprout, 7-14 days and then as neded. I don't start these early in pots. As in many flowers that are a wildflower type, they don't transplant well. Be sure to save your seeds at the end of the season anfd you will have many more to plant in different locations. Thanks for your intrest in my auction and please email with any questions.
