The listing, Calling all BLING-A-NISTAS! from Italy, Giulia Carla Cecchi has ended.

WILL SHIP PRIORITY MAIL, IN PLENTY OF TIME FOR VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
okay everyone, i had this listed in jewelry because it is a "jeweled" jacket. listia pulled it today and i am having to recreate it. i put a ton of work into this auction and it will take some time to recreate but i wanted to get something up so those of you watching it could find it again.
i am, i must say, a bit traumatized! will be back with the pictures as soon as i can! and more information!
thanks so much.

First of all, if you are interested in this jacket, i would suggest you do a search on the name, giulia carla cecchi. the atelier is in italy, and there is a bit of interesting history to be found conerning the original designer and how her work progressed into this very high end, haute couture atelier. this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some of you very special people here on listia to own something so extravagant, so much fun, so luxurious.....for free! i am not putting a gin on this because i want everyone to have a chance at winning it. "wracking up the credits" for this is not so important to me as to see it go to someone who deserves it, will feel like a princess wearing it.......and show it off as such a piece deserves to be shown off. back tomorrow with the rest of the pictures, with sizing information, and more views of the jacket.

i have added photos of measurements of the jacket right side out and buttoned, and inside out, buttoned and unbuttoned. as for size, i guess i am right now 14-16 (i don't really know) and this is snug on me. however, there is some flexibility with this jacket as it looks just as beautiful worn open as closed. i have provided a couple of pics with me wearing the jacket. it was first thing in the morning, no makeup, hadn't brushed my hair, and just found the closest thing to put on to wear under it. otherwise, i would have given full body view! or close, anyway. close up of me with the red cami and "acccessory" (my mom's beaded collar from the 50's, not included) was an accident but included it for illustration. i will have to look through the rest of the pictures to see if i have left something out. please feel free to ask questions, and if you want to send me your measurements in an email i can check them against the jacket to help you decide if it will fit. and the open aspect of the top of the jacket allows a bit of leaway in bust size as well.

i am so glad you found it! i have to tell you, i was just blown out of the water when it was "just gone" from my auction list. and i had it watch listed too, gone from there. never happened to me before. i found a note from them in my personal mailbox. i think maybe they could come up with a way of not just deleting things from watch lists, like "gins", and leave some sort of message about what happened, how to contact the auctioner. that would be a huge help. i have had several things disappear from my watch list and could only assume they were ginned. it would be nice to know for sure, don't you think?
and now how do i let all the people who were watching it find it again???? oh me, well, that's the way it goes. it's the middle of the night, i just finished up some bidding and thought maybe in my comment section i would find comments left on the auction and could notifiy people. but no. not there. thank goodness you are, though! will be putting pics back up sometime tomorrow.

I have bid 450 (save others time) and I think this is about where the bidding was when you got "re-listed."

in the description, i explain that there is no size given for the jacket. because it may have been custom made i put some pictures with tape measurements of strategic points. it just depends on your own measurements and whether you want to wear the jacket closed or open. i believe i need to provide a few more measurements that would help. i will try to get to that today. sizes vary so much in the stores these days, it is just hard to say. i have gained weight and am i guess a 14-16, or xl, 5'4". this jacket is snug on me around the upper arm and i cannot quite button it. if you would like, you could send a private email to me and i could help you decide if this would be a "good fit" for you. thanks for dropping by, and your interest in this jacket!

What is the chest measurement from armpit to armpit with the buttons closed.

i laid the jacket on the bed, flat, buttoned, with the two side panels laying flat, maximum closure.
measurement from the base of the armpit to the base of the other armpit in the front is approx. 19". i turned the jacket over and measured from the base of each armpit. it too is approx. 19". this is how the jacket would fit on a completely flat chest. the upper front half of the jacket, see in pictures, forms a more or less v neckline which will easily accomodate medium to smaller breasts. i am not sure about anything larger. i believe this would depend on the wearer's waist measurements and chest size not including the breasts. wrapping the tape measure around myself just below the breastline i measure 38 inches. (19+19=38) but i have an out of shape, plump torso and this is where i run into problems fitting into the jacket buttoned. just can't do it!
i also measured the sleeve midway between the elbow and the shoulder. it is about 14-14 1/2 inches in diameter. my arm at that point measures about 13-14 inches and my arm fits very comfortably in the sleeve (bare arm-if i have on something bulky like a sweater, then it is too snug.)
i have taken a couple of pictures for you with the tape measure lined up on the jacket so you can see where i measured. i don't yet know how well they turned out, but i will be putting them up on the auction page before i go to bed.
so does that help? i will be more than happy to provide you with any more information that you may need! thanks for the question, and for your interest in my auction!

Hi. I know how you must have felt when your auction was pulled.I will not continue to list items if listia is going to keep canceling them. I listed a mini sewing machine in arts & crafts, sub heading sewing, and all info was correct. Then poof... gone... three days later. Do these guys just let anyone flag a listing and then delete it without any sort of review?? Listia has not answered my e-mails requesting an explanation. I could be a wonderful community member but arbitrary auction cancelling is about to make me quit and post to all my friends why I no longer support listia. Listia must be fair and explain why listings are pulled when asked to explain. I am sure many members share the same frustration.

melody, you are just so special. sounds like you have really had a rough time with this kind of thing. this was the first for me, and it did kind of knock me back. i had just done so much work on the original listing and with my fibro, i can get pretty worn out when i put so much into listing an auction. and of course, you just cannot recreate something the same way when the inspiration has been blown out of your sails. know what i mean?

i have been missing you, ungala! yes, i freaked out when they pulled it. and without the comments available i couldn't notify anyone. i did try going through the email box that is linked to my listia account, where copies of comments go, but it is also my facebook email account and it is so full of stuff i just gave up. i don't check on it regularly anymore and the inbox is just loaded.
glad to "see" you again!

it's a winterish type of coat, i would say though that it is blazer style. it is loosely form-fitting. there is no information on the label about the material that the sequins are sewn into, which is one thing that makes me think it may have been custom-made for the woman who originally owned it (it was given to me a while ago, and i didn't think to ask about the jacket when it was given to me. it was brought to me by a friend of the owner). it is not a heavy weight jacket but not lightweight either. it is lined with a substantial silk or satin (i have forgotten how to tell the difference!) material. so it would probably not be suitable to wear in the summer months. the base material may be some sort of woven wool, something like that. my eyes are not great, and it is dark now. i think if i get it out in the sun tomorrow, and put on some reading glasses ;0 i will be able to tell you more about it. so just look sometime tomorrow either below this reply or where the page lists updates and i will try to describe it in more detail. actually, i think if you hit the "view larger" button to enlarge the pictures, you may be able to see more detail that way. look at the close up picture, the one with the red camisole in it. and i will get back with you tomorrow, perhaps i can try to get a good close up of the material. thank you! hope this helps.

Picture?type=square&access token=105469222550%7cd qfyki0ggnddypmnoq3ykmtsyq
Update to Brenda's question and my comments about the material the jacket is made out of...
i do not think that it is wool. the rows of sequins are so close together and i cannot isolate a single layer of the material because the lining is sewn to the jacket, which also prevents me from seeing the back side of the material.
as best i can tell, it is some sort of lightweight material. it looks as if, try to imagine what i describe, the sequins were sewn onto a width of material perhaps twice or 3 times the width of the sequins and then these lengths of material were sewn together. it looks like there is some sort of decorative seam lengthwise between each row of sequins. but it is not easy to see. so the material is much more lightweight than i thought. it is soft and very comfortable to wear. it is snug on me but when i put it on wearing the camisole (my arms bare) it has a very comfortable, lightweight feel to it. even with the sequins this jacket feels great to wear. but i still think it may not be suitable for summer wear. i guess this might depend on the individual that is wearing it.
