I have one of those card things on my laptop but i was told i need a wireless router would this work with a sony vaio laptop??

this wireless router will work with wireless b and g networks. So if that card in your laptop is wireless b or g then you will have no problem. The card should read like this 802.11b or 802.11g then you are good to go.

@Eunice7 yes this will work fine. Sometimes when you get used router you may have to push and hold reset button on the back to get rid of old settings or passwords. But your Sony will work fine with this.
