FREE: Handmade Bobbin Lace Bookmark

This is a Torchon Bobbin Lace Bookmark. It is one of my first attempts at bobbin lace (a form of weaving,) so I'm not going to say that it is perfect. I did not design the pattern so I can't take credit for that, but it is a pretty sampler of Torchon lace none the less.

I have stretched it and pinned it to my knee and thigh in order to see more of the detail. It is approximately eight inches long and a little over one inch wide. It has dangling tassels at the bottom. It is made out of size 8, white crochet cotton. It can be bleached, washed, and ironed if it gets lightly soiled from book or finger print.

As soon as my camera works again I will post pictures of it pinned to my lace pillow next to another pattern I have started if anyone is interested in an image of how it is made.
