Hi, I've uploaded the picture of the ports--there are 3 of them: 1 for cable input, 1 for USB and 1 for LAN (from right to left of the picture). The power input is on the extreme left. I used to plug my router (Belkin, which is also advertised here) into the LAN port to enable wireless wifi for my computers. So, to answer your question, I'm not sure if it is common to plug house phone into the LAN socket -- perhaps you could check with Comcast. Thanks.
