Description

The listing, Toshiba 2535CDS laptop computer has ended.

This is a SOLID and dependable laptop I used in high school to make presentations and do webbrowsing. It is one of the most dependable laptop that I've had. This was before the days of cheap netbooks and stuff, and I have just been using this as a bittorrent client and small fileserver with a USB hard drive attached. There's a bit of tape on the lid latch because the screen-closed sensor wasn't activating, so the tape presses more firmly on it. The winner could take it off, but then the screen won't turn off when you close the lid with it on.

What's really cool about this laptop is that it has all the connectivity that you need for legacy devices. It has: Floppy, CD-ROM, USB, Parallel, Serial, Infrared, PCMCIA, VGA. The only reason I still have this is because I wanted to maintain compatibility with my old devices and PDAs and such.

It comes with a 802.11b/g WIFI card for connecting to any wireless networks. It supports WEP and WPA and is reasonably fast. Just don't expect it to play Crysis or any recent games released in the last 8-10 years.

In conclusions, It's a solid webbrowsing/general purpose machine and offers more versatility than a crappy netbook. The battery is also pretty good. It lasts somewhere between 90-120 minutes.

Here is some copypasta.

this is a nice auction
Will you free ship to Canada?

I was planning on only USA because this is really heavy. I don't think that there's any flat rate shipping to Canada.

I'll ship to Canada if you cover any additional shipping cost above what it costs to ship it flat rate. Sound good to you?

Does it have any Word stuff installed on it (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc)? I do apologize if you've answered it already, but I didn't see it in the description. Thanks :)

Yeah, it never once broke on me the entire time I've owned it. All my newer laptops never lasted more than 2 years. They just don't make them like they used to...

Would you be able to play online games on this like pogo.com, since this is an older laptop? I don't know to much about laptops.

I don't think flash works too well, but it'll work for text-based browser games.

May 3rd, 2010 at 11:11:08 PM PDT by

It's using WinFLP. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winflp

It's exactly the same as XP, but less resource-intensive. You could install XP, but it will be veeerrryyyy sloooow.

I think a flat rate box is like $15 to ship to Canada.
I would be interested in this as long as the shipping wasn't outrageous
