No, from my experience, even if the account is deleted, the Key is used and it won't work.

As far as I know it has never been used. If you have a problem with it you could always send it back:)

This is good only for installing the software faster than having to download it in it's entirety; and you will still have to download lots of updates. The key is no good, but the only thing the key really does for you is get you a free month of WoW on a new account. You can start a new account, or upgrade your old regular WoW account regardless of the key.

I would say this could still be a worthwhile purchase to someone who has a slow-to mid range internet connection and doesn't want to have to download for days.
