. . VICTORIAN GARDEN CLASSIC! . .
✿⊱╮✿⊱╮✿⊱╮✿⊱╮✿⊱╮✿⊱╮✿⊱ ╮

Though not of English origin; this Mediterranean delight was so often favored within English gardens, the name just sort of stuck.

This exceptional shrub is cold hardy and remains evergreen through zone 5. Its long swaying spikes are layered in calyx filled bracts of striking pinkish-purple and lavender flowers. Its aromatic scent is known worldwide and used in therapeutic oils. Fresh cut English Lavender brightens a rooms aesthetics, while freshening the entire home in its lovey scent. When dried, whole flowers are used in floral arrangements while loose pedals fill the ever adored drawer sachet. And last but not least, English Lavender is used in culinary delights as both an ingredient and decoration. The dried flowers and leaves are blended to make a calming tea.

Sowing early with speedy cold stratification: Add seeds to damp paper towel and place in a baggy. Put in "Freezer" for 24 hours. Let seeds thaw for 4 hours and then top sow onto moistened and well-drained seed starter and lightly cover with more soil. Give bright indirect sun or grow light. Do not let soil dry while germinating (mist if needed). Transplant to the garden in spring when the ground is warm.
