Description

The listing, Linksys WRT54G Wireless G Broadband Router 2.5 GHz 54 Mbps - Bios flashed with enhanced firmware has ended.

The gold standard for home routers for years, the WRT54G is a Wi-Fi residential internet gateway from Linksys. It's capable of sharing Internet connections among several computers via Ethernet and b/g wireless. This is a very easy to set up and widely used router. Comes with AC power adapter and short ethernet cable to connect to your modem.

Easy to setup, does not require any CD or additional software, and will be reset to factory default username [blank] and password [admin].

BONUS: This router has been flashed with an enhhanced bios version: v4.71.1, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c

If this doesn't mean anything to you, that's fine; you don't need to know anything special to run this router. For those in the know, this bios allows a lot of additional functionality:

Adjustment of wireless transmit power
14 wireless channels
'Boot wait' protection (increase the time slot for uploading firmware via the boot loader)

I thought you sold this router already? Anyway, can the firmware be flashed back to factory bios?

That was a different router. This one is actually better. I actually briefly looked to to find the factory Bios for a Version 2, and strangely that was the only one missing from the Linksys website. I'm pretty sure this is just an oversite and Linksys could help, or one from another model would work. However, the Bios that's on the router uses the Linksys Bios as a base, and at first glance you wouldn't even realize there is an alternative Bios on the router. For basic routing purposes, it is exactly the same. I see no reason to flash it back to the OEM bios.

This router can be flashed to DD-WRT. The firmware on it now worked great though, and was very stable for years.

Sorry for the $6 shipping, but that's about what it cost me to send the last one, and I think I might have to buy a box to ship this one.

might want to make sure it's set to factory default settings before shipping it. Hold the reset key near the power plug in.

If you are proposing something, that's fine, I'll consider it, but I had no intention of doing free shipping.

@ Zachary18 - I need a wifi router for my business. All I can say is game on. Oh by the way, Grandma says I can use all of her 50,000 credits. This isn't a 3 pointer, looking for a TD. Wish I could have said that about the Bengals.
Grandmas hubby.
