The listing, Nintendo 3DS (Original) (Black - DOES NOT POWER ON !!!) (Free 8gb SD with GIN) has ended.

A original Nintendo 3DS handheld system (not the "New" one). Just did not want to come on one day. Had it sitting in the closest almost 5 months & said "Screw It" & tossed it on here.

We were playing Scribblenauts on it last & it worked fine. Then it just stopped. NOT DROPPED, NEVER GOTTEN WET ... literally no physical damage; it just wouldn't start up one day. No flashing lights or anything.

We had it charging 2 straight days on a perfectly fine wall charger & nothing. As seen in the short video, it just will not power on.

I guess as is for parts or to someone who wants to take the time to fix it.

Starting bid is 333,333 as that is a net to us of 300,000 ... which is about a 10$ value here on Listia. It's worth at least 10$ because it should be a easy fix?

GIN does not getcha free shipping, sorry. It's got some weight to it & we can't afford to ship it free or we would.

Using the GIN will get you a free full-sized 8gb SD card so U can have some space on it :-)

Great gift if fixed in time or to give to a hobbyist or other!

My Diagnosis of your Broken 3DS is a Snapped Speaker Ribbon cable, The fix would cost about $5-7 Dollars + 2-4 Hours of work. Great auction! And Good luck.

A speaker ribbon ... Causing it to not power on? What would a speaker have to do with the power? Speakers enhance vibrations of sound ... Not sure how that would affect it to powerr on

Well, That's exactly what I thought when I was trying to repair the Two Broken 3Ds of my sisters. So, I cut open my working 3Ds, trying to find out the problem with theirs. Upon disassembly, I managed to create a small tear in the flex cable, After that, no Power on, no Turn on, no Boot. Then after some internet digging, I realized that It's not necessarily the speaker its self, but the flex cable its attached to, you see the flex cable is a Y-shaped circuit which connects to all the major components in the upper panel of the 3Ds, This includes: Top Screen, Cameras, and Speakers. Unfortunately, There was a slight flaw in the console's design, If its opened and closed excessively over a period of 1-2 years, A small tear would form in the Flex cable, shorting the connection between the upper panel and the main board, Thus, Disabling virtually all functions of the System. And that explains what happened to those other two 3Ds and possibly your's my friend. By the way, Now I'm trying to repair Three Broken 3Ds. Hope that helped. Happy holidays and Goodnight.
