The listing, 1972 Topps DOCK ELLIS - Pirates ("The L.S.D. No-Hitter") has ended.
1972 Topps Dock Ellis.
This card is in good condition.
Dock won 138 games over a 12 year career, mostly with the Pirates and the Yankees, and commanded respect from the mound.
That is not why Dock Ellis is famous.
These days, Dock is best known for a single game, June 12, 1970 when he no-hit the San Diego Padres ... and later admitting that he was under the influence of the hallucinogen LSD while he pitched the game. The night that Dock Ellis ... and Dock, himself ... pitched a no-hitter while tripping on acid are now a part of baseball folklore as one of the oddest occurences ever in the game.
Happy bidding!
