Great variety for cooking, garnish, dips, coctails etc. Utah Tall is a common celery found in most grocery stores. It's sturdy enough to hold peanut butter to a cream cheese dip to holding up in a lovely hot soup or cold salad. It's one of the most diverse celery's sold around the world and it comes directy from good ol' USA.

Auction is for 50 Tall Utah Celerty Seeds. Yum!
Item ships within US FREE via USPS. ETA 2 - 3 days

I'm a simple backyard gardener. Be sure to check with your local Post Office regarding importing of agriculture / vegetable seeds of any variety.

Start seeds when weather has warmed so crop matures in fall. Mature celery lasts into winter with light frost protection. It's best to start celery seeds in trays. Celery seeds are extremely small. Can be grown as an indoor container garden as well. Be sure to give it plenty of sun. Place near direct sunlight.

The leaves have just as much flavour as the rest of the plant does. Many cooks like to snip the tops for cooking, new leaves will sprout.

*Another thing people don't know is if you cut about four inches above the roots/stalk, the celery will continue to grow.

Growing Tips:
Planting Depth: Sow 1/4" Deep
Keep Seeds Moist.
*Best to start in trays. Seeds are very small.
Days to maturity: 90-120 days.
Heighth: 11 - 24"
*Resistant to most common celery diseases.
Full Sun
Plant Spacing: 9 - 12" apart

*FREE Recipe included!

Bet is on.. I make a leathal manure tea (seaped compost tea) that's a bit toxic. :O) It'll probably sent the entire state of Utah to the moon! Cheers ~LosAngeles

They'll do just fine in Idaho. Water is key and soak the seed to speed up germination. Celery also grow in containers. That may be your other option. Celery love cow manure as well.

Celery is all about climate, space, water supply and patience. Always start with a good manure.. I'm all about the cow manure mixed into soil then giving vegetables an occasional manure tea (compost tea - seeped) watering.

Celery enjoys cool weather but, more importantly WATER. The reason why celery of any type likes water is because they have short roots unlike most other plants. Celery has to always be kept wet.

It's best to start celery in containers and transplant if you're not used to working with micro seeds. If you blink.. you may have lost 50 seeds.

Here’s a HINT that I'll give you that will be a life changing event for you when growing celery particularly in Idaho is... celery is a slow germinator.. HINT: soak your seed first before planting. You'll see a big difference and get a higher germination rate.

I always transplant my celery. I grow it in old, square, plastic containers that are about 1' tall and 2' wide. Remove some of the outside leaves from each plant before planting them into the ground. As with head lettuce, this trimming helps the roots recover from the transplant shock and resume normal growth more quickly.

Growing celery is like baby sitting.. you always have to keep your eye on the kid... always be sure that your celery is sitting in moist to wet soil and has plenty of fertilizer.

I reside in southern California and we have sandy soil. I have a particular bed that I use for celery. I dig out 6 inches of soil, mix manure into the soil then replace the 6 inches of soil with manure. Basically my celery is growing in manure. It's green and healthy and the manure sustains the water for along time.

Celery will grow in arid climates.. I'm proof in the pudding. Soak seeds to speed germination, plant in pots and transplant, remove leaves from plant before transplanting, Use a good manure in your soil, and water is your success story.

PS. Celery does well in pots. You give that a try. Your friends may think you're wierd by growing celery in lieu of flowers. Cheers ~LosAngeles
