This Hard drive works on either a desktop or a laptop. As long as the computer is compatible with a SATA drive. A lot of older Desktops do not have the SATA Extensions, but their is a PCI Card that you can get to make your older desktop SATA compatible.

Ummm, how do you figure that a desktop harddrive will fit into a laptop? And even though a laptop harddrive would fit into a desktop "tower", there are no mounts for such that I have ever seen. Also, the interface (i.e. "plugs") for a desktop harddrive and a laptop harddrive are totally diffrent, always have been and always will be. Don't lie to people, if you aren't lying then at least know what you selling before you list it!

A quick Google search lead me to the following information:

Technical Information

Storage Capacity:
60 GB

Drive Performance

Rotational Speed:
5400 rpm

Buffer:
8 MB

Interfaces/Ports

Hard Drive Interface:
SATA/150

SATA Pin:
7-pin

Physical Characteristics

Form Factor:

Internal
Drive Width:
2.5"

Being a 2.5" drive means it's for a laptop, if it was 3.5" it would be for a desktop. There are different sizes then those out there, but those are the two most common and most people don't have to worry about them.
