We bought this collar for our 53 pound yellow lab and it was too big on her! We have since bought a medium collar (same brand) which is perfect but this large collar can fit up to a great Dane size dog because it is adjustable and we had adjusted it down to the smallest setting & it still slipped off her neck.
We did not walk her on it - we merely tried it on her so it is like new. I'm sure that someone else's lovely dog would sport this collar well. It has a plastic attachment for tags that is easily accessible.
We are a smoke free home with one cat and one dog. I ship for free via USPS priority Mail with tracking.

How many pounds is your pit?
Our retrievers neck is especially small for a female lab…your pit may have a wider neck than our lab.

Yes, I already did and the smallest the collar gets is 8 inches long, as previously stated
