Thank you, Vikki I will have to try that. I am going to need to get some dried manure too. I have a sandy soil and not much else. We have not had a lot of luck out of this ground. That's why I want to get some fill dirt and top soil brought in before we start this year. I will try your suggestions out too. This will be my first year gardening in many years. I let my husband at it and he wasn't doing so well. I used to be good at it but with my MS I kinda gave up a lot of things. This year I am planning to go at it from my wheelchair. Also planning on chickens. I figure enough of sitting in the house being miserable. Thanks again for everything. Merry Christmas and hugs.

YOU GROW GIRL! May I suggest trying cinder blocks to design your new garden. A project hubby may enjoy just a bit more. The two of you could design and configuration it to suit your wheelchair's ability to converse unobstructed throughout your grow area. Simultaneously, you can adjust the levels and height(s) of your blooms/veggie's for easy access to you. Try googling: "cinder block gardens" and/or combine with a "pallet garden" :), they're both too fun! And, economical when saving on soil, water and toil :0)

Yes they are wonderful! If you live in a warm climate they grow very fast. I planted a seed in april and it is already reaching six feet.

Lol...folks think I exaggerate when I tell them how fast it grows, but it really does have super amazing qualities. Did you also know the seeds can purify dirty water while removing approx 98% of water borne bacteria? How cool is that :0]

It's really hard to pick a favorite part, but, a few crushed seeds shaken with a little fresh water and added to dirty...does amazing things. I'm super impressed with your knowledge!
ps...did you know in ancient era's Moringa was nicknamed, "Mother's Helper?" How apropos.

Ok thank you! Yes I sure am! I am stocking up. I am planning a huge garden and putting some back for just in case. I have found a wealth of seeds on Amazon also but I am waiting to see how many I can get here with out spending any money. It is going to be expensive as it is to get the dirt I am going to need, not to mention pots ect. Thanks again. Hugs and Merry Christmas!!

You need to get a compost going for you're free soil! It's soooo easy and the best soil you can imagine. Just collect all those yard trimmings, leaves, kitchen scraps (minus milk, oil and meat products) and keep piling where animals can't get to it (behind screen, in lg wood/plastic container or in situ, right where you want to plant). Give it a google for more info :) As for germinating and planting pots...again let's go for the free, be creative...and save the ecology by reusing empty coffee cans (*throw the used grinds and filters into your compost) and vegy cans, cut the tops off of plastic milk jugs, soda bottles, etc and just be sure to pop a few holes at the bottom for drainage. Also check w/local plant sellers for their old containers which can be obtained very cheap. If you look at my germination pics above you will see I use clear deli-containers for the perfect little germination houses :] Lol, I'm all about the cheap!

Thank you I will do that. My husband is in Masonry in college funny that you mentioned that. He would enjoy that...might be a way to get him to better commit to the garden. He loves doing stuff outside but he gets flitter brained and distracts easily. When I just leave it to him it doesn't seem to go well. Thanks again! I will look that up.

Ha, I'm a psychic gardener! Just show him some of the Internet projects and he'll be rearing to go!! Love how folks also paint them. Bonn has also added some great info from her block garden to the link as well.

Hi there, I put raised beds in the front of my house for my flowers. I used concrete blocks and rebar, that way they drain easy and they breathe. It's a lot easier on the back than crawling around on the ground. If you are near or know a farmer he may let you get some manure to add to the compost pile. I was able to get 6 truck loads, three on each side. I topped them off with bags of cheap garden soil. It smelled like a barn for a few days here but the plants love it.

Excellent share-Bonn! Just looked through some photos today and saw a roll up work station which was handy. Plus they make great benches by sliding 2x4's through the holes. Such creativity!
