Why does the question of "Stamped .925" come up about alot of sterling silver items? I am clueless and might as well ask so I know. To me, sterling silver is sterling silver but does this denote a different grade of sterling silver or prove that it is sterling silver. Thanks for your help whoever.

sterling silver has 2 stamps .925 and .999 thats how much sterling silver is in it .925 is 92.5 present silver and .999 is 99.9 present silver.if there is no stamp on it its not real silver
