2016 Leaf Trading Cards Career Achievements Babe Ruth # CA-02. Professionally graded a perfect 10 by All-Star Grading Company. This card is protected in an archive quality acid free tamper resistant card holder to keep it pristine and preserve the integrity of the graded and authenticated material.
The Bambino or Babe as he was known had a lifetime batting average of .342 with 2,873 hits, 714 home runs, 2,212 runs batted in. He also pitched with a win loss record of 94-46 and a 2.28 earned run average. He played in the first two All Star Games. He was a seven time World Series Champion. AL MVP in 1923. AL Batting Champion in 1924. Twelve time AL home run leader. Six time RBI leader. New York Yankees # 3 retired. MLB All Century Team. MLB All Time Team. Inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. Considered by many, the greatest baseball player of All Time. He was a member of the Murderers Row lineup of 1927. Yankees Stadium has been called the House that Ruth Built.
Personal Note : My grandfather ( Lester McCormick ) got to meet Babe Ruth when he was a child, and Babe shook his hand. He remembered to me that Babe had the biggest hands he had ever seen.

There is a Babe Ruth museum in Baltimore and an autographed ball in the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame.

The connection here is Brother Matthias. He was a Cape Breton born, 6' 7", giant that ran the Boy's Home in Baltimore.
