it syncs with any device using bluetooth. I had got it for my grandfather but he refuses to wear it. It is new but I tested it so i could show him exactly how to use it. I didnt give it to him in the box because he wouldve just kept it there and stuck it away, The protection cover is still on the face, he didnt even try the watch on.
as for the question about simcard, this device connects to your smart phone which allows you to answer calls directly through the watch, the watch rings and mimics your phone. Its so cool the watch becomes your phone, no need for simcard.
