Baby Snapdragons are one of my favorite easy flowers to grow. They come back spreading and more beautiful every year .I find in my soil they do better for me if not transplanted. Happier if not disturbed ! The choice is yours. Surface sow after all danger of frost has past. The seeds are small so I mix with dry soil and a small amount of baking soda and sprinkle where I want them to be. Not only can you see where you have them, but the soda acts as a natural fertilizer, safe for pets and children.
.Start indoors 8-12 weeks before the last frost in your area for earliest blooms.Fill a seed flat with loose soil. Sprinkle snapdragon seeds on top. Press the seeds down lightly and mist them with water from a spray bottle until they're moist. Snapdragon seeds need light to germinate, so do not allow them to become covered with soil. Keep the seed flat in a cool room, with temperatures around 55 degrees.
Choose an outdoor planting site with full sun.
Plant seedlings outside when they reach 1 to 2 inches in height and after the danger of frost is past. Space seedlings six to 12 inches apart.
Pinch back plants when they have four to six leaves. This encourages full, bushy growth.
Maintain evenly moist soil with regular, deep watering.
I don't fertilize these, but the choice is yours, they are very hardy.
They easily reseed themselves and are very easy to save seed pods for plants in different areas next season.
