To say Wake was overlooked by NFL scouts would be an understatement. Coming out of Penn State in 2005, where he played DE and LB, Wake wasn't even invited to the NFL combine. He went undrafted and caught on with the NY Giants but was soon released. He signed with the BC Lions of the CFL and proceeded to do nothing but win awards--becoming the first CFL player to win Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season. The NFL finally took notice and Wake made his way down to Miami in 2009 where he's been dominating ever since.
