what type of material is it? has it been used? if so what condition is it in?

It has been used, but is in decent condition. There are no tears and all zippers work properly. I am not certain of the fabric, but it is a nylon type, very durable fabric similar to a lightweight backpack type fabric. The velcro on one of the outside pockets is fairly well worn and may need to be replaced at some point in the future.
