Time to raise Awareness for Mental Illness! This can be something mild to a disorder that paralyzes. Nearly every family is touched in some way. I have used all quality components in the creation of this Bracelet and is 8" long.

Please store your jewelry in the zip-lock bag with the black Anti-tarnish paper I include when not wearing it. Clean it with the silver polishing cloth to keep it looking beautiful! Store away from direct sunlight.

My 40 yr old nephew is paranoid schizophrenic & live in a well supervised adult group home..With out tons of medication & services he would not be alive..He is much loved & cared for by the family but it breaks our heart that this handsome & kind man goes thru a war in his head that will never get better

I hope this auction brings hope to other families & raises awareness that a difference can be made..I am truly hoping to win this so when some one says "wow your bracelet is gorgeous!!" I can tell them why I wear it & ask them to donate some time or write their representatives to get more help for services..The system is so over crowded & under funded compared to many other causes..Ty Bunny :))

That is a touching and appreciated account of this young mans struggle. One cannot know what a person with this diagnosis actually goes through unless they are quite close. I thank you for sharing this..I wish him all the best and am grateful her found a safe place to live :) So many do not :(

Hey Bunny!
As you know very well, I am Bipolar I, mixed type, rapid cycling. This means my moods range from minor depression, to feeling like I'm in a huge black hole with no hope of getting out. Suicide attempts are something I have first-hand knowledge of.
I also range between hypomania, a state that can be lots of fun, for me anyway, but can still involve dangerous behaviors.
Then there is hypermania. This state is close to insanity! I can become transported to a whole nother level of being. Up for 2-3 weeks at a time, or much longer, as in months, with only the barest minimum of sleep. The other two parts of my diagnosis are difficult to describe, and I don't want to take up much more space. ;)

I am not sharing this for attention, TMI or any reason other than to tell first hand what it is like to have a serious mental illness. Most of the times I am hypermanic, I end up in the hospital, locked up for about a week till they can get my meds straightened out, or just me, myself.
I've been hospitalized close to 20 times in my life.

The good news? I am doing very well lately with my current regimen and a newfound sense of self. I am also involved in an on-going study at the University of Michigan that is following the lives of over 200 individuals with various degrees of Bipolar. Myself included
They are making great strides into the genetic aspect and also beginning to isolate the gene(s) which may be the cause of this disorder.No, Disease.
I'm very excited to be a part of this Monumental study into mental illness and with them doing so much to try and alleviate the stigma of it.
