Up for bid is a real photo postcard. The view from Belleview is of Ljubljana, the capitol of Slovenia, and in the far background (left side) you can see the Ljubljana Castle on the wooded hillside.

This view is from 1928. The postcard, while not dated, is listed as from between 1928 and 1947. I assume it was reprinted during that time period. And this one certainly looks more like a late 1930s or early 1940s issue. More recent views have this area quite more populated.

The former owner had it listed as Yugoslavia (printed in pencil on the back of the card) , and until 1992 it was Yugoslavia, but the country has been divided into 5 new states.
