My yarn is immediately put into plastic ziplock bags to keep them smoke free and pet free. I then store them in large airtight plastic tubs in my craft room. I do have 1 cat who is limited to only two rooms in the house, the kitchen and bathroom. My craft room door is kept closed at all times. I hope this is helpful.
