It's made from a canvas with plastic-type backing. I think I'd just wipe it down if it got dirty, rather than the washer. It has no care instructions on it.

Ok, thanks. As a grocery tote, I always expect meat packages to leak. Been bidding on all cloth bags.

This is kind of plastic-like inside, I think it could be wiped out with a bleach cloth, but I understand, you don't want to mess around with meat packages that leak!
