This auction is for an NVIDIA GTX 280 discrete GPU card. The card works fine but the machine that used to house this was recently upgraded to a newer GPU.

Be advised that these beefy GPUs have special power requirements. In order to make full use of this card, the computer's PSU needs to be able to supply 40 amps on the 12V rail.

Nope. The amount of RAM is fixed. Here is a picture of what the board looks like when you take off the casing. You will see there are no slots for upgrading:

Good question. According to the spec page, it has 1GB standard, so that's probably what this contains.

ASUS motherboard? Yeah, that should work, if it has the right slot. The more pressing concern is power supply.
