-The 1960s-1970s Cubs were more than just Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, and Billy Williams. Thre was also Don Kessinger, who made 6 All Star teams between 1968 and 1974.Kessinger collected over 1600 hits and 2 Gold Glove Awards dring is tenure with the Cubbies.
-Altman was a star waiting to happen. In his first 4 seasons with the Cubs, he made 2 All Star teams, hit an All-Star Game homer, and homered twice off Sandy Koufax in the same game. His 1961 season (.303/27/96) was impressive, but he was still part of a supertrade to the Cardinals before the 1963 season. He returned to the Cubs in 1965, but was retired by 1967.
-A call-up in 1960 and a rookie in 1961, Brewer failed to flourish with the Cubs. However, after leaving Chicago, he hit big with the Dodgers, recording 15+ saves in every season from 1968-1973 (when the save was still a rare stat). he had an ERA under 2.00 4 times, and made an All Star game in 1973.
