Not sure, but the corner holders for iPad are stretchy, so it seems to me it is made that way to hold different sizes. But only actually tried it with my Ipad2.

Do you know if this will work on a kindle fire?

Sorry don't know, but my iPad is about 10 " x 7 ". So if a kindle fire is that size it might work. But it is Bluetooth and I don't know if that feature would be compatible with the kindle fire.
