Ok, this is the deal! I'm listing two beautiful 10kt and 14kt rings that I personally "acid-tested"
The 10kt passed with flying colors :o)!
The 14kt did not-turned the acid green-and upon observation I could actually see the copper because the gold plating was so thin, the acid removed what was there.:o(!
So, decided to just add it here! It's pretty enuf but ohhh sooo fake. It was sold as a 14kt Emerald-but the stone is prob. fake too...grrrrr! Fog tested it and it passed.
On the other hand the 10kt ring is a 'prize'! Unusually large center stone with a unique cut to it, and twice it passed the acid test! Both have been worn-and the bttm does show some wear. But the rest of the rings are shiny bright!

(Oh, Im glad I pinched enuf pennies out of the budget to buy this metal testing kit! It's already paid for itself!I think!

Oh and 4 he record. Both passed the fog test, where you fog the stone by breathng on it and seeing how fast it disipates. Both were almost instantanious which shows at the very least, these are lab-created gems.if not natural.ones.
Makes me feel a bit better...
