Known as Dutchman's Pipe or Calico, this SUPER EASY to grow and fascinating vine with is huge velvety mottled-red blooms is likely to steal the attention from the rest of your garden beauties! As an addition to it heart shaped leaves and otherworldly speckled flowers, this vine also plays host to the huge Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly, a marvel in itself.

In warmer and tropical zones (especially Florida) this vine can become invasive due to its fast growth and perfect weather conditions. Cut back during winter and collect seeds to maintain its size and location.

Interesting Info: Though Dutchman's Pipe Vine appears to be carnivorous...the large blooms actually trap and release insects 'unharmed' the following day covered in pollen so they will continue to pollinate the rest of the vine.
