I am a painter as well, and I wonder why coat this with anything. it does not need any kind of protection if framed correctly.

UV protection against fading mostly,also helps with finger prints ect. It is painted with acrylics so it also gives it a nice sheen and depth.

OK, I can see the sheen and depth, but acrylic paints do not fade.
