I have to take a new approach for selling on Listia as things have changed drastically over the last month. Please note the last two photos and what they mean for sellers.

In one photo you'll see the average going rates of gift cards sold on Listia, and it's ridiculous but it is what it is, for everyone. It's an average of 100,000 credits per dollar. Keep in mind I must price my listings based on what my credits can be used for.

Now sellers would make better by basing their listing prices on how much they can sell their credits for - 100,000 credits yields exactly $2.91 BUT ever since the cap was placed on the credits per dollar rate that credits can be sold for, it takes AT LEAST 34 DAYS for credits to sell. 34 days is crippling and simply isn't worth the wait.

So I hope this sheds light on why my prices have went up so much. And frankly, if things don't improve soon, I will be leaving Listia for good. It's a shame, because Listia used to be a fun place to operate but truth is it's nearly impossible to feel like you're making good on Listia when many buyers don't understand the course of Listia inflation, making it tough to sell something like a $5.00 pokemon card and get enough credits to spend on something of similar value. So to bridge this gap, I recommend that if you want to feel like you're getting what you pay for, sell gift cards to acquire your credits rather than buying credits directly. You'll get much more for your money.
