There are so so many medical abbreviations and acronyms out there. I was a nurse so this was a good reference for me. The abbreviations are probably still the same , this shortened form of a word would be too confusing and dangerous if they changed it, I'm sure the Acronyms just keep growing and growing(. Words formed from the initials in a phrase. It has weights and measurements. Some pharmacology. Formulations. Administration directions. And routes to be given. References. standards/regulations. Diagnostic testing Acronyms. Professional designations or the titles behind a name in the medical field. Those wonderful managed care words or initials with your insurance statements Agencies/ organizations. Like FDA food and drug administration or NCI. National cancer institute. Health assessment Acronyms. Love the PH. Poor health. Acronyms for specialized areas. And facilities. Like ICU. Intensive care unit or SNF skilled nursing facility. Locations and directions. Like L for left and LE lower extremity. body systems. And those wonderful acronyms on your lab reports. I'm sure there are applications for your phone that give you similar information.
