The listing, 1/2 pound of premium quality organic seedless soap nuts has ended.
What are "soap nuts," you ask? They are an Eco friendly laundry detergent alternative that is inexpensive, effective, 100% certified organic, hypoallergenic and fragrance free. Soap nuts, or "soap berries" as they are also called, are a fair trade harvested fruit that grows in Nepal and contains a natural soap and rinsing agent (saponin) that will leave your clothes smelling fresh (rather than toxic). They are particularly great for cleaning cloth diapers and baby / toddler clothes that require hypoallergenic care. To use, simply place 3-4 soap nuts into a small muslin bag, and throw the bag into with your wash. With very heavily stained or soiled clothing, you may add an Eco-friendly stain remover to the wash (such as Oxiclean), as you would when using a regular laundry detergent. One batch of 4-5 soap nuts is good for several loads. This 1/2 pound of seedless nuts will wash 100+ loads. Once used (after about 5 loads), simply compost the old nuts and add fresh ones into the bag.
