Beautiful! You'll need to pack it in order to obtain shipping cost estimates. They go by the measurement of the package, and the weight, plus the zip code of the destination. Parcel post with the USPS would be the least expensive way to ship in most cases. Once you get the package ready to address, there is an online shipping cost calculator at 'USPS .com'. When you get it all figured out, could you tell me the shipping cost to 93505? Fanned and watching!
thanks for the info..I have heard of shippers that will take larger items interstate.supposedly a lot cheaper than u.s.p.s. Of course, finding one is another thing..I'll package it up and take to the post and fed-x and let you know..by Monday..Thanks..
Greyhound Bus takes large packages for a nominal fee. But I don't know how carefully it would be handled. I suppose if it was packed very well it would be okay. I would think though, if it was wrapped in plastic, then packed in a picture box (you can obtain from u-haul), and had packing peanuts filling it up, the weight wouldn't be too heavy. You could probably send it parcel post (USPS) for around $20. I'm going by the postage amounts I've seen on packages I've delivered in the past. I'm a retired letter carrier :-)
hi, you look so young to be retired from u.s.p.s.Monday I will take it to a couple of places to get an idea. Our small Somis postoffice is close and the girls are really nice.I will call Greyhound, also. Thanks, alot. Aren't you going to bid?
I ship paintings I have done all the time,I make my own boxes out of larger cardboard,an 16x20ships for aprox 8and a half bucks USPS cross country, with tracking,AND I JUST SHIPPED TWO 24x36 for 21$ including tracking as well.
Usps is the cheapest I have found and UPS is good if you go directly to them, but if you go to a general mailer who does all places, you will get charged much much more,I have gone rounds with shipping and USPS is the cheapest and quick everything have ever sent reached buyer safely.
