Up for auction is a hand crocheted and tea stained bun cover for a large bun. It will cover a 4 in diameter bun that is about 1.5 in thick (fairly large.) When laid flat it is a circular doily approximately 7.5 in in diameter. It has pink yarn strung through the outer loops that can be tied around the bun to hold it more securely, and bobby pins can anchor it around the loops of the edges for extra staying power. If you want to use it on a smaller bun, you could always re-thread yarn or ribbon of your choice closer to the center of the design.

This piece is an original design (by me, no pattern.) It is 100% cotton thread crochet (size 8 thread) in the style of Irish crochet lace. It can be hand washed It could also be blocked and steamed or ironed flat to be used as a decorative doily.

I made it to cover a fake bun to make it look like I had long hair when appearing in a play this past summer, so it has only ever been wrapped around clean doll hair.
