Coral bells grown in full shade are less likely to flower, so place the plants in dappled shade if you want to see the stalks of bell-shaped flowers each spring. The soil for your coral bells should be rich in organic matter and well-drained. These plants prefer moist soil, but soggy soil can lead to root rot.
