I ordered this from amazon.com a few days ago and I opened it to brush my pitbull with it and he thinks it is a toy.

I figured I could list it on here so someone will actually get good use out of it. My dog just wants to play fetch with it haha.

It is for smaller dogs but it worked fine on my pitbull.

It takes 2 double A batteries. I still have the packaging it came in with all the instructions and everything.

I believe that it would work. I brushed my cat with it for a second and I got a bunch of his undercoat out.

This brush removed some of his undercoat as well as tons of dirt that was stuck under his coat. Awesome brush!

FYI- maltese do not have an undercoat, nor do they shed. Since they have such fine hair, you want to be careful with what you use on them. Yes...lol, I have a maltese. But am watching this for my daughters dalmation.

yeah you are right. My dog has very short hair but when I used the brush it took the dirt out of his coat very easily. Not sure if it would work the same on the maltese.

does it have blades in it? I have a cat with some matting going on and also does it make a sound that seems loud or is it quiet, was thinking it may work for my cat.

it has one blade that vibrates and loosens the hair. It has barely any noise you can't hear it it just vibrates gently to remove the undercoat.

no I opened the package to use it on my dog and cat once for about 10 minutes and my dog is just too playful he is still a puppy and is a lab mix so he is nuts haha

I would think so. I think it is better for longer hair dogs as it would get more fur out.
