The listing, 1959 Abraham Lincolin 4 Cent Print Block has ended.
The Department issued this 4-cent Lincoln Birth Sesquicentennial commemorative stamp, the fourth and final stamp of the series, through the Washington, DC, post office on May 30, 1959.
The 4-cent Lincoln stamp features a portion of the famed statue by Daniel Chester French, which sits in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. The actual subject matter was taken from a line and pastel drawing by Fritz Busse, as published in the book "Washington — City on the Potomac." A facsimile of the signature "A. Lincoln" appears to the right of the vignette, with the denomination "4c" to the left. The wording "United States Postage," in whiteface Gothic, is arranged up the side and across the top in the stamp's upper left portion.
This print block is in "New" condition and the ink is intact. There is a little blemish on the back that looks like it happened during the print of the stamp, but it does not affect the stamp in anyway. Also in the close up picture you will see a line across the face it is a cat hair that landed when I cat walked by I couldnt see it until the picture was uploaded. Good Luck and Happy Bidding
