The listing, Art Deco Silver Trinket Box-Re Purposed has ended.
Once upon a time this was an Art Deco Era Powder Box. Now its usable as a trinket box. It has lost its mirror its sifter and its puff. All in all it lost its guts but not its glory. Its still Very lovely. The top of the box has the ever so deco engine turned designs with a guilloche enamel centerpiece and painted violet flower embellishment. The engine turned designs on metal were a smash hit at the 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair-
There are a few dents to the reverse side as well and possibly a small one on the lid.
So this is a re-purposed vintage treasure. It truly believe it is silver but any silver impression is long gone. It may be a lesser silver than 925 such as 800 but I am certain it is silver. No where does a magnet stick and it doesn't appear to have any plating including the inside which is silver as well.
Measures: 58" Tall and 2.5" Across
Sold AS IS and it may not be silver but since i have seen and dealt with much silver I truly think it is. I don't think of this as scrap it is far too lovely.
