first off these plants get huge so need lots of room it takes 4 weeks to germinate transplant 6 weeks after sprouting grows in zones 7 through10 are also known as gunnera manicata and look like something a huge dinosaur would eat one heck of a show stopper for any garden good luck and happy bidding

WOW!!!!!! freakin huge!!!! i lived in lake butler/ daytona 8 yrs. never saw anything like that! wish would grow up north....

they say it will grow in zone 6 if cut back in fall and covered with a foot of mulch

im in 5 BUT im hoping to get house that has an outdoor mini greenhouse...that may work. or whats your take on trying as houseplant. that may be like a creepy story huh?

they do require lots of room and can grow about 20 feet tall and spread out alot but are a show stopper

Very cool listing. What is your germanation rate? How do they handle transplanting to larger pots as they grow? What do they like as far as permanent soil, wet and rich or well draining sandy etc? Fanned and bidding, I must try these. Thanks

this is to big mrik d my cat hit the enter button trying to play with my fingers they handle transplanting very well i have had no problems with that at all and permentenly wet soil rich with humus and if you get alot of frost or snow cover them with a foot and a half of mulch for wintering after you trim them to ground level of course hope i awnsered all your questions
