Hey Coin Lovers! Check out this interesting 1953 quarter! I am not sure why there is a perfect circle to one side...maybe it was one used as a pendant? Another thing I noticed besides the circle is the fact that I cannot find a letter for the place the coin was minted from. Still..not sure what that means, but someone out there does. If you find this coin interesting...why not bid and hopefully get a closer look??? And the shipping is FREE:) ***added some picture, but the closer I get...the fuzzier it gets from my cell camera:(***

interesting that somebody would bore this! certainly had a special significance at one time or somebody just got happy with a drill :).....the reason for no mint mark is because it is a "Philadelphia mint"; only the Denver and San Francisco minted coins had mint marks, and were on the other side. But for collecting, in this case, the most sought after of the series was said to be the Philadelphia minted ones; not sure why..probably just not as many of those minted. Guess the hole thwarts that, but still very cool.....

Wow...had no idea about the minting! Thanks for the info:) I think someone wore it around their neck...significance of a b-day or an anniversary? Perfect circle though and neat. If I knew someone with that b-day, I'd buy a nice chain for it and pass it along...but I don.t:(

back in the 60's people made jewelry outs c of real coins such as this. I guess I am showing my age, but that is why it has a hole in it. It was a very popular thing to do. Some experts could tell you a lot more.
