The listing, VINTAGE POSTCARD Hollywood California SUNSET & VINE Cars / Stores has ended.
Up for bid is a late 1950s or early 1960s postcard of Sunset and Vine intersection in Hollywood, California.
Shown on the left is Music City, NBC on the right. However, like many historical structures in Hollywood the NBC Radio Studio in Hollywood would be demolished. There are a lot of other places of business that are no longer there.
Wallichs Music City, on the left, was the place to go for concert tickets, sheet music, LPs, 45s, tapes, 8-tracks, cassettes, and musical instruments.
Despite its following, the Wallichs Music City lost business as record chains like Licorice Pizza, Music Plus, and Warehouse Music & Movies popped up and then multiplied in suburban malls. Wallichs Music City closed in 1978 and the building was razed.
I love these old postcards! Definitely a blast from the past! Card is in great condition! Smoke-free home.
